…the IV Program is one of the best ways of giving young politicians a positive attitude about the United States.
– Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder
The International Visitor Leadership Program:
-
Presents an opportunity for businesses and universities in Northwest Florida to create new ties with their foreign counterparts and to strengthen existing ones
-
Promotes the area as a center of commerce, culture, and tourism
-
Makes delegates available for presentations to classes at the primary and secondary school levels
-
Creates opportunities for students at local colleges and universities to interact with up-and-coming leaders
-
Provides a tangible economic benefit to the community since IVLP participants pay for their hotel rooms, transportation, and most meals
-
Offers extra workers to volunteer organizations - As a word for “volunteerism” does not exist in some languages, an important part of many IVLP projects is for delegates to spend a half-day as volunteers in a U.S. community
