For five days we were pleased to have with us two journalists from South Korea here on a program focusing on foreign policy.
The delegation was welcomed to Pensacola by Carl Wernicke, Ginny Graybiel, and other staff of the Pensacola News Journal. At the paper, the two attended a daily budget meeting and were presented with Honorary Citizenship to the City of Pensacola. From there, they group went on to meet with Andrea Moore of Enterprise Florida to review U.S. trade policies. After an enjoyable lunch downtown, the group headed to the studio of WEAR-TV where Stations Promotion Director Kathy Dunagan helped to facilitate this valuable appointment focusing on how the news show is developed. They were also able to attend the taping of that evening’s newscast.
The following morning. the group went on a fantastic tour of the soon-to-be world famous National Flight Academy where Mark Curley was once again a phenomenal host. The scope of the program and the innovation behind the designing the facility truly amazed the visitors.
From there the group made the short drive to meet Bobby Simpkins, Director of the Fleet and Family Support Center on Pensacola Naval Air Station to highlight programs available to service members. The afternoon concluded with a visit to SAFER, Support Alliance for Emergency Readiness, where Daniel Hahn met with a group to examine how the public Is educated about disaster response.
That evening the group enjoyed relaxing on the beach and trying out some of the area’s most popular restaurants. Thank you to all who helped make this program a success.
